Somehow, knowing Corel, I doubt it's possible, since PSP and CorelDraw originate from different development teams. cdr files into PSP since I've never tried. Other than by using multiple layers and blending, PSP lacks the easy ability to do dropped shadows and graduated fills, both of which are simple with CorelDraw. Quite honestly, the text editor in PSP is a crude and cumbersome thing for anything but the most basic editing. I'd say it's pretty basic, and typical of what you can do with PSP, but maybe that's what the OP was looking for. I get tired of people saying that PSP is limited or you cannot do such and such with it, when in fact most of the people making these assertions have little or no knowledge of what can or cannot be done using the software.įair enough, but the example in your first post isn't exactly what I'd call "fancy text." Give me an idea of what you would like to see text look like and I can likely come up with something very close.

PSPX5 is limited in what can be attained with text, only by one's knowledge of how to fully utilize the software's power and one's imagination. There's a tutorial on using text effects with PSP which may be of interest here: In the past I've created some interesting text effects using Corel Draw, but I've only used them in a graphics environment, I've never tried to add them to a photo. I think PSP is fairly limited in what you can do with text. I'd just like to do Fancy Captions occasionally. I'm not a graphic designer and don't really need a lot of textures and stuff.
There is Alien Skin Eye Candy, but its kind of pricey as I woudlnt be using this capability very often. Otherwise I would think a plugin would work well with this. PSP uses system fonts, so to get the appearance you want you must have that font loaded into Windows. L:ike how to make letters look like Ice Blocks or Flame or something. If anyone good at PSP could offer up a more advanced tutorial or something that would be awesome. PSPX5 can do a lot of neat stuff with Text but it isn't very intuitive in my mind once you start adding Bezels, glows, textures, etc. Sometimes I like to add captions to a picture, but was wondering if there are any cheap/free plugins for doing so.
